This course is a work-based qualification and is suitable
for those who undertake warehousing and distribution related activities and are
in a supervisory role. It is open to candidates of either gender and there
are no barriers on grounds of race, creed or previous academic attainment or
learning, however, applicants must be working in a warehousing environment or
involved in the managing of logistics operations.
A personal skill scan, conducted by our staff, will ensure
that the applicant's current job role lends itself to the demands of the National
Occupational Standards.
Who is it aimed at?
This course is designed to reflect the work of warehousing
and distribution staff across a wide range of industries and types of organisation
and is for those who are working with a significant degree of autonomy and
personal responsibility, for example a supervisory or team leading role.
How am I assessed?
Students will be allocated a personal assessor and supplied
with all the necessary reading and assessment material. The assessor will
provide personal tutorial support at pre-arranged times, students will also be
assessed in the workplace using observation, witness testimony and professional
discussion which is presented in a personal portfolio of evidence demonstrating
understanding and application of the Level 3 certificate performance criteria.
Am I in the right role?
You would need to be in a supervisor role in order to
complete this course.
What does it entail?
To achieve a full award at Level 3 candidates must complete units which total at least 21 credits; this includes three mandatory units and a number of optional units.
The mandatory units are:
- Health, safety and security at work
- Make an effective contribution to a business in a logistics sector
- Optimise the use of logistics resources
The optional units may be chosen from four groups 1-4. A full list of optional units is available on request, listed below is a sample.
Group 1
- Improve performance in logistics operations
- Allocate and check work in your team in logistics operations
Group 2
- Supervise the receipt, storage and dispatch of goods
- Maintain the safety and security of hazardous goods and materials
Group 3
- Arrange the transportation of goods using multiple transport modes
- Schedule logistics operations to meet customer requirements
Group 4
- Respond to problems in logistics operations
- Contribute to customer service in logistics operations
How much does it cost?
It would cost you £1076.00. 80% of the cost may be offset by using
your enhanced learning credits and includes all of the resources needed to complete your
qualification.

CIEH Risk Assessors Course (2 days)
Total cost for three course is £2500 (inclusive of assessment and certification). Those using higher tier ELC to fund the course can claim back £2000 of course costs meaning a personal contribution of only £500
